Planning my Preliminary Task

In order to plan for my preliminary task, a lot of preparation is in need. The main idea for our 30 - 40 second video is going to be a blind date scene with a twist. The genre of this task is going to be comedy. The basic idea of this video will be based around the fact there has been a mix up, and the date is not what you would expect. This will add some comedy to our clip as well as show expressions of confusion and stress. In our group we created a spider diagram writing down our main ideas and planning the various points such as: costume, setting, dialogue, music and any sound effects that are going to be used. We have made a start on deciding the dialogue but are still unsure of the exact speech that we are going to use, this is because we feel that we should check it against the movement of the actors and see how it sounds on the video. We are considering using an egg timer in the background for the sound effects, this is so that we can build some tension and make the speed date seem as realistic as possible. The video is going to be set in a classroom and based around a circular table. Throughout our video we will incorporate three main camera shots: match on action, 180 degree rule and shot reverse shot. We have thought about how we are going to do this by filming a basic video trialling these different camera shots. As a part of our planning we have created three different storyboards that all link together, one of them is for the camera angles, movement and the dialogue.
